Supermodel Kate Moss has been questioned by police in the UK over allegations that she took illegal drugs at a London recording studio last year.

The 32-year-old model had been living in the US for the last few months, after her career was threatened when a tabloid newspaper alleged that she was photographed taking cocaine at a recording studio.

Police recently urged Moss, who has attended a drug rehabilitation centre in the US, to return to the UK for questioning.

A police spokesperson confirmed: "A 32-year-old woman has voluntarily attended a London police office today in relation to a (police) investigation into allegations of possible drug abuse, as reported in newspaper reports."

The spokesperson also confirmed that Moss had not been arrested. The model has not commented on her meeting with the police nor has her lawyer made a statement on the matter.

Moss has not publicly admitted to taking illegal drugs but she did issue a statement last year, apologising for her behaviour, which she said "reflected badly" on her family and friends.
