'DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story' director Rawson Marshall Thurber is to bring 1980s TV classic 'Magnum PI' to the big screen.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Thurber will write and direct the film which, like the Tom Selleck-starring series, will mix humour and danger.
The plot of the film will see private investigator Thomas Magnum and his former military comrades search for a missing friend.
The creators of the series, Glen Larson and Don Bellisario, will serve as executive producers on the film.
