'Lost' and 'Desperate Housewives' took two of the most high profile awards in the television categories at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills last night.
'Lost', which returns to RTÉ Two on Monday 6 February at 9pm with a double episode, was named Best Drama Series while 'Desperate Housewives' was named Best Comedy Series.
Geena Davis won the Best Actress in a Drama award for her series 'Commander in Chief' with Hugh Laurie named Best Actor in a Drama for 'House'.
Steve Carell was named Best Actor in a Comedy for the US version of 'The Office' with Mary-Louise Parker winning Best Actress in a Comedy for 'Weeds'.
The Best Supporting Actor award went to Paul Newman for the mini-series 'Empire Falls' with 'Sideways' star Sandra Oh winning Best Supporting Actress for 'Grey's Anatomy'.
'Empire Falls' was also named Best Mini-Series or Made-for-TV Movie.
Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was named Best Actor in a Mini-Series or Made-for-TV Movie for his performance in 'Elvis' with S Epatha Merkerson winning Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Made-for-TV Movie for 'Lackawanna Blues'.
