'Emmerdale' actress Nicola Wheeler, who plays Nicola Blackstock, has revealed that she is planning to leave the soap in the coming months.
Wheeler, who has been in the show since 2001, has enjoyed some big storyline with her character Nicola, including one in which she was jilted at the altar by her fiancé Carlos after he had an affair with her step-sister Bernice.
Wheeler said: "I've had an amazing five years on the show but feel the time is right to try something new. I will miss everyone at 'Emmerdale' desperately but I’m really excited about what the future holds."
Series producer, Kath Beedles, said: "Nicola has been an asset to the show and will be greatly missed. We wish her the best of luck in her future career."
Wheeler will leave the soap in March of this year.
