'Se7en' director David Fincher is to helm a new thriller called 'Torso'.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the film tells the true story of Treasury Department agent Eliot Ness' work after the downfall of Al Capone.

Ness became Director of Public Safety in the city of Cleveland, Ohio where torsos began appearing in the river.

He then started receiving notes taunting him to catch the killer and, while not having any police training, brought together a team of former officers to catch the killer.

The film is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andrey-ko.

Fincher is currently making the film 'Zodiac', which is based on the true story of the so-called 'Zodiac Killer', who terrorised San Francisco for over two decades.
