'EastEnders' actress Louisa Lytton has said in a recent interview that she was shocked when she first read the scripts about her current plotline.
The 16-year-old actress, who plays Johnny Allen's daughter Ruby in the soap, told the Sunday Mirror that she had no idea that her character's relationship with Juley (Joseph Kpobie) would take a sinister turn.
"When we started the storyline of Juley and I getting together it was really nice," Lytton said. "We didn't have a clue what they were really planning on doing. So when we got the scripts showing him being paid to seduce me it was a real shock."
The storyline saw Juley accepting money from Phil Mitchell to seduce Ruby and later dump her, leaving her broken-hearted as her father fought for his life in hospital.
"We said: 'Do we really have to do this?' It's really horrible. Joseph is going to get lots of hate mail," she said. "But the bosses were sure it would work. And they were right. It has been good on screen."
"I've had loads of people coming up to me saying: 'We really hate Juley'. It's really got to people. It really has worked," Lytton said.
