'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell is planning to bring his new series, which pairs professional singers with celebrities from outside the music business, to American television.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Cowell, who sold the UK version of the series, entitled 'Duets', to ITV last month, has a cast-contingent deal with US TV giant Fox.
Episodes will feature each duo picking songs to perform in front of judges and a live audience, with viewers voting off the contestants.
Cowell will executive produce the US TV show through his company SYCO TV but will not appear as a judge.
