'Coronation Street' has been named the most watched soap of 2005, beating rival soap 'EastEnders', which was the second most watched show of the year.
'Coronation Street' scored its biggest audience of 14.35 million viewers on 21 February, when it featured storylines about Sally Webster's affair with her boss and Tommy Harris' fury over his daughter Katy's relationship with Martin Platt.
'EastEnders' pulled in 14.34 million viewers for the episode which featured the murder of Dirty Den.
'Emmerdale' was the fourth most watched show, placed after an episode of 'The Vicar of Dibley'.
Also featured in the top ten list of the most watched programmes of 2005 were 'Comic Relief: Red Nose Night Live 05', 'Doctor Who', 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here', 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'A Touch of Frost' and 'Little Britain'.
