Some of the soap actors who are due to appear in the upcoming talent show 'Soapstar Superstar' have admitted that nerves are beginning to kick in ahead of their first live performance tomorrow night.

Shobna Gulati, who plays Sunita Alahan in 'Coronation Street' said: "I feel nervous, a lot nervous, and a little bit excited because it's going to be fun."

"I've done nothing like this before. I sing in the shower, in the bath, around the house and in my car, much to the amusement of everyone who drives by," she said.

Michael Greco, who played Beppe di Marco in 'EastEnders', commented: "I'm a bit nervous, but very excited. I'm looking forward to it, I've been working hard and I can't wait for the first show."

"I did 'Chicago' in the West End and I've done a couple of other musicals but this falls out of my comfort zone," he said.

Richard Fleeshman, who plays that part of Craig Harris in 'Coronation Street', said: "It's not quite like walking down the cobbles is it? It's going to be a real shock to the system when I walk out on Friday night with the cameras and the audience."
