After attempting to rebuild their marriage, Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen have decided to divorce.
Sheen's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, yesterday confirmed a report in People magazine that the couple were getting a divorce but declined to give any details.
People said that lawyers for the stars asked in a filing that the case be removed from Los Angeles County Superior Court and handed over to a private divorce arbiter to arrange the details.
Sheen and Richards split last spring when the actress was six months pregnant; after the birth of their daughter on 1 June the couple had tried to reconcile.
