'Strictly Come Dancing' winner Darren Gough has revealed that he is considering opening a dance studio, following his stint on the reality show.

Gough and his dance partner Lilia Kopylova were crowned winners of the show on Saturday night, beating fellow finalists Colin Jackson and Zoe Ball, and their partners.

Gough, who was a novice dancer 10 weeks ago, became the first male contestant to win the show.

Speaking about proposals to open a dance studio, his agent said: "I think he did mention it before. It is definitely a possibility, but not something we will look at straight away."

Gough said: "I am a sportsman, a big bloke, who has suddenly started dancing and I think the public has said 'well, if he can do it, I can do it,' and I think that's why they have got behind me."

"I just hope it has given people the confidence out there to go out and dance because it is a great thing to do - I've had so much fun," he said.
