The four contestants who have been chosen to take part in the spoof space mission as part of the show 'Space Cadets' are today enjoying their time on board the mock shuttle.
So far none of the contestants have doubted that they are actually travelling in space, with Paul even saying: "This is a dream come true, thanks for choosing me."
One of the cadets, Charlie, is aware that the show is a hoax. He is an actor who has been hired to make the experience more believable for the others.
He commented quietly yesterday: "I can't see how they'd think this isn't happening. We've been living in a virtual reality and there's no chink in the armour."
Shortly after blast-off, Paul seemed to suspect that there was a problem, saying: "It feels like we're still on the ground!"
But the captain explained to him: "There's no friction in space, that's why it's so smooth."
