The final of 'The X Factor' will be an all-male affair this year, after the last remaining female contestant in the show, Brenda Edwards, was evicted at the weekend.

The 36-year-old singer lost out on the public vote, leaving Journey South, Andy Abraham and Shayne Ward to battle it out in next weekend's final.

Speaking after she was voted off the show, Brenda said: "I am feeling on top of the world, I really am."

"I had a great time, I wouldn't change a thing - I am going to continue losing some more weight," she said.

"I had an amazing experience and I just hope it is not over for Brenda just yet."

Brenda's mentor Sharon Osbourne burst into tears after the results were announced and was unable to comment on her departure from the show.

Shayne Ward is now the bookmakers' favourite to win the show.
