Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs.

According to reports, the singer was stopped by police in West London, after the vehicle he was driving appeared to be making erratic movements.

Police allegedly discovered suspicious substances after searching the vehicle. According to reports, Doherty was then arrested, for alleged possession of class A drugs, and taken to a nearby police station.

A police spokesperson said: "At 12.10am on November 30 police stopped a car in Cleveland Road due to the erratic manner of its driving."

"Substances were recovered from the 26-year-old male driver and the vehicle. He was arrested for alleged possession of class A drugs. He was taken to a west London police station."

"He was later bailed to return in January 2006 pending further inquiries," the spokesperson said.
