Irish 'X Factor' stars The Conway Sisters have criticised their mentor Simon Cowell after he chose to boot them off the show at the weekend.

Cowell chose to save Moroccan entertainer Chico in favour of the sisters after both acts lost out on the public vote.

Marie Conway said that she believed that Cowell didn't provide the group with enough support throughout the show. "He didn't really know what to do with us as a band," she said.

"It was a relief to him that we decided to choose our own songs," she said. "Obviously, we're a bit upset, but we felt it was our week to go."

"We've been in the bottom two for the past few weeks and we weren't getting a huge amount of support from our mentor."

Sinéad Conway said that there would be no hard feelings towards Cowell, insisting that they still had a lot of respect for him.
