Colin Farrell is to star opposite Scarlett Johansson in 'Borgia', Irish director Neil Jordan's film about the most powerful family in 15th Century Rome.
Variety reports that Farrell and Johansson will play the siblings Rodrigo and Lucrezia Borgia, the children of Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia.
The trade paper says Jordan's script is filled with "betrayal, backstabbing and murder", with Johansson playing a woman "torn between family duties and a desire to find true love" and Farrell's character described as "duplicitous and manipulative".
Production on the movie will begin in April.
