Girls Aloud - Members criticise X Factor contestants

Former reality television show contestants Girls Aloud have hit out at this year's 'X Factor' contestants, branding them second rate.

Members of the girl group, which was formed as part of the talent show 'Popstars: The Rivals', have criticised the acts currently competing in 'X Factor' in a magazine interview.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Nicola Roberts said: "I don't think the talent is that good this time round."

"I mean, look at Chico - what is that? That's what you get when you try and make good TV rather than a talent show," she said.

Nadine Coyle said in the interview that she asked their manager Louis Walsh, who is a judge on the show, to go easy on the acts.

Coyle said: "I can't watch it. The judges are just so harsh. I told Louis Walsh that he should give them constructive criticism and not just destroy them."
