Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony will begin work on their new film 'El Cantante' next month.
Production Weekly says the biopic tells the story of salsa singer Hector Lavoe (Anthony), with Lopez playing his wife Puchi.
One of the biggest Spanish-language singers of the 1970s, Lavoe was blighted by personal tragedy and heroin addiction and died penniless from AIDS-related complications.
The film will begin shooting for four weeks on 14 November in New York and will also shoot for a week in Puerto Rico.
