Katie Holmes and fiancé Tom Cruise are expecting their first child together after their whirlwind romance of six months.
People magazine broke the news of the pregnancy yesterday in the US and Cruise's sister and publicist Lee Anne DeVette said in a statement: "Tom and Katie are very excited, and the entire family is very excited."
DeVette said that Holmes had "never felt better".
The publicist added that no wedding date had been set and did not reveal when the baby was due.
