Murphy scoops two IFTA nominations

The full list of nominations for this year's Irish Film and Television Awards have been announced, with actor Cillian Murphy nominated in two of the film categories.

Murphy is nominated for Best Actor for his performance in 'Red Eye' and for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in 'Batman Begins'.

The other nominees in the Best Actor in a Feature Film category are Gabriel Byrne ('Wah Wah'), Liam Neeson ('Kinsey') and Aidan Quinn ('Convicted').

Shortlisted along with Murphy in the Best Supporting Actor category are David Kelly ('Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'), Sean McGinley ('On a Clear Day') and Tadhg Murphy ('Boy Eats Girl').

Corrs singer Andrea Corr is nominated for Best Actress in a Feature Film for her performance in 'The Boys and Girl From County Clare'; the other nominees are Jillian Bradbury ('Winter's End'), Winnie Maughan ('Pavee Lackeen') and Renee Weldon ('Trouble With Sex').

The nominees for Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film are Charlotte Bradley ('The Boys and Girl From County Clare'), Nora Jane Noone ('The Descent'), Deirdre O'Kane ('Boy Eats Girl') and Tatianna Ouliankina ('Short Order').

'Mickybo & Me', 'The Mighty Celt', 'Pavee Lackeen', 'Tara Road' and 'Trouble With Sex' are nominated for Best Film.

The nominees for Best Director are Anthony Byrne for 'Short Order', Fintan Connolly for 'Trouble With Sex', Terry George for 'Hotel Rwanda' and Perry Ogden for 'Pavee Lackeen'.

Anthony Byrne ('Short Order'), Pearse Elliott ('The Mighty Celt'), Terry George ('Hotel Rwanda') and Terry Loane ('Mickybo & Me') are nominated in the Best Script category.
