Oscar winner Charlize Theron will make her debut as a guest star on the Emmy award-winning comedy series 'Arrested Development' on US screens tonight.
Theron will appear in five episodes of the show as Rita, a mysterious woman whom Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) meets when he travels to England to do investigative work on behalf of his father.
Speaking about her role to Yahoo! TV, Theron said that she was a huge fan of the show, which she described as "quite genius".
She said that her involvement with 'Arrested Development' came about after she told Patty Jenkins, the director of Theron's film 'Monster', that she was a huge fan of the show.
Jenkins also directed episodes of 'Arrested Development' and when the makers of the series heard about Theron's love of the show, they offered her a guest role.
