Two more companies are to sever ties with the model Kate Moss over concerns that her reported involvement with illegal drugs would tarnish their appeal to consumers.
Chanel and Burberry issued statements yesterday saying they would be dropping Moss from ad campaigns after photographs of the model, reportedly showing her using cocaine, ran on the cover of a tabloid newspaper.
On Tuesday, retailer H&M cancelled a campaign with Moss, 31, saying she had acknowledged her drug use and had apologised.
H&M reversed an earlier statement of support for Moss after customers called to complain, a spokeswoman said.
A spokeswoman for Chanel, which has featured Moss as the face of its Coco Mademoiselle fragrance since 2001, said the company had "no plans to work with Kate Moss on new advertising campaigns in the near future."
The latest ads are due to finish at the end of October.
A spokesman for Burberry said Moss was scheduled to participate in a campaign this autumn, but "both Kate and Burberry have mutually agreed that it is inappropriate to go ahead."
