Michael French is returning to medical drama 'Holby City', five years after he left the BBC show.
The actor, who played David Wicks in 'EastEnders', will be reprising his role as hunky registrar Nick Jordan - a part he played between 1999 and 2000.
A BBC spokesperson said: "We're looking forward to having Michael back."
Nick will appear in a one-off combined 'Casualty' and 'Holby' Christmas special and then will then return on 14 February to ruffle feathers amongst the female staff.
After quitting his Walford role, French starred in 'The Gentleman Thief' and 'Born and Bred'.
He has also starred in the West End stage production of 'Art', alongside Stephen Tompkinson.
