Actress Jane Fonda has refused to be airbrushed after posing for the cover of Good Housekeeping magazine.

The 67-year-old star said that she didn't want the photographs of her to be altered, despite the fact that she is the oldest person ever to appear on the cover of the magazine.

Fonda said: "I don't want my wrinkles taken away - I don't want to look like everyone else."

"The long-awaited realisation that good enough is good enough liberates the spirit. And, of course, good lighting is important too," she joked.

"There's a lot of pressure on people who depend on how they look to earn their living. It's really rough. Frankly, I cannot stand how everyone is looking the same," the actress said.

The actress does admit to having minor cosmetic surgery to remove fat from around her eyes, but denies that she has had a facelift.

Good Housekeeping editor-in-chief, Lindsay Nicholson, said "Jane insisted we did not retouch the pictures at all. She is very lucky because she has amazing bone structure."
