'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul has been cleared of wrongdoing following an investigation into claims that she had a sexual relationship with and coached a former contestant on the show.
Corey Clark claimed that he and Abdul had a relationship while he was a contestant on the 2003 series of the show and that she assisted him on his performance during the competition.
Television company Fox ordered an investigation into the allegations, which found no "corroborating evidence or witnesses" to substantiate Clark's claims.
Abdul did admit to having telephone conversations with Clark, but the investigation found that the pair's accounts of the conversations differed greatly and "no evidence was uncovered to resolve the conflicts in their accounts".
Following the case, Fox and 'American Idol's producers have strengthened their non-fraternisation policy between 'Idol' contestants and staff.
Corey Clark was disqualified from the show in 2003 because he failed to divulge a prior arrest to producers.
