Pop singer Britney Spears has denied any knowledge of the pellet-gun shooting of a photographer who was staking out a house where she was a guest.
Photographer Brad Diaz was shot in the leg while standing outside a house in Malibu where pregnant singer Spears was attending a baby shower in her honour. A number of other photographers were also gathered outside the event at the time of the shooting.
Spears' publicist Nicole King said: "Britney didn't know anything about it. She had nothing to do with it." When asked if the singer's security staff had anything to do with the shooting, King answered: "Oh no."
Police confirmed that Diaz had been treated at the scene of the shooting but described his injury as insignificant.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman, Steve Whitmore, said: "We will conduct a thorough investigation just as we would with any other complaint."
