Actor Eddie Murphy's wife Nicole has filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage.
Nicole Murphy cited "irreconcilable differences" when seeking a divorce. She also applied for joint custody of the couple's five children, who are aged between 3 and 15.
Eddie Murphy released a statement saying: "The welfare of our children is our main concern, and their best interests are our first priority."
The 'Shrek' star met model Nicole Mitchell in 1988 and the couple married in 1993.
