Elton John has dubbed Live 8 an "anti-climax", saying that the event lacked a sense of occasion.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, John said: "The thought behind it was fantastic, but Hyde Park is a charisma-free zone."
"I thought it was a bit of an anti-climax, to be honest," the singer said. "There was no sense of occasion and from a musical point, I didn't think there were too many highlights."
John performed a duet with Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty as part of the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, London.
He also said: "I was very pleased to be part of it, but I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the first one."
