Combs - Reaches a settlement with publisher

Publisher Random House announced yesterday that a settlement had been reached in their case against rapper P Diddy.

The publisher filed a lawsuit against P Diddy, real name Sean Combs, earlier this year, in order to recover a $300,000 book advance.

Random House claimed that its Ballantine imprint had paid the rapper the advance as part of an agreement which Combs made to write his autobiography, which was never delivered.

Random House spokesperson Stuart Applebaum said: "The matter has been amicably resolved." No further details of the settlement were released.

The spokesperson also added: "We will not be publishing a book by P Diddy."
