Eighteen-year-old dance student Eilish O'Shea, who hails from Kerry, has won the grand final of 'Chance to Dance'.

Eilish, who began dancing when she was 10, has trained in Gymnastics, Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Classical, Jazz and Street dance.

Speaking about the moment her name was announced as the winner of the show, Eilish said: "I've come such a long way from the first audition. I was ecstatic. I have been on that buzz ever since."

She is due to move to London soon to take up a scholarship at Laine Theatre Arts, as part of her prize. "I can't wait. I am so excited. It's such a short time and I want to make the most of it and enjoy every minute of it," she said.

Eilish beat off competition from 20-year-old dance teacher Eric Richardson in the final of the show last night.

Speaking after the grand final, Eric said: "In all fairness, I'm glad Eilish won. I am delighted for her."

Looking to the future, Eric is planning on focusing in on a career in music. "I am going to lay down a couple of tracks in studio. I have seven songs written and produced. I am going to record them in the next few weeks," he said.
