Pop singer and actress Samantha Mumba has appeared at Dublin District Court on a number of minor motoring offences.

The offences date back to 22 November 2004 when Mumba was stopped by Gardaí in the Coolock area of Dublin.

Two charges relating to insurance were struck out by the court after Mumba presented an insurance certificate in court. Four remaining charges relating to car tax offences and failure to provide a driver's licence were put back until 21 September next.

Mumba indicated to the court that she had back-dated her car tax and did in fact have a driver's licence, but did not supply any documentation to prove her claim in court.

Mumba, who drove to court in her 2003 BMW, left without making any comments afterwards.
