A memorial service is to be held later this year to celebrate the life of 'Countdown' host Richard Whiteley, who died on Sunday.
Kathryn Apanowicz, partner of the television presenter, released a statement to say that Whiteley's funeral arrangements would not be made public.
However, she also said that members of the public would be welcome to pay their respects at a memorial service, due to be held in September.
"This service will also be for his wider circle of friends, people in public life who knew him, the viewers of 'Countdown' and 'Calendar' who have appreciated his work over many years and his colleagues at ITV Yorkshire," her statement said.
Whiteley was admitted to hospital several weeks ago, suffering from pneumonia. He underwent heart surgery, just days before he died.
Whiteley's partner, Apanowicz, also said: "In addition, we would like to thank everyone who has sent cards and messages of condolence and sympathy as this had brought us comfort at this very difficult time."
