Singer Beyoncé Knowles is to auction off some of her most famous stage outfits in an effort to raise money for charity.

Most of the designs that will go under the hammer were made by the singer's mother Tina Knowles.

VH1's 'Save the Music' fund is set to benefit from the sale of the collection of clothes, which will include the gold gown that the singer wore to the 2004 Grammy Awards and the chainmail top featured on the cover of the 'Dangerously In Love' album.

Knowles said: "It's actually very hard for me because I love these dresses. I'd like to bid on all of them."
