American author Edward P Jones has won the 10th International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for his first novel 'The Known World'.
Jones was presented with a cheque for €100,000 at a ceremony in City Hall in Dublin this morning. The book has already won a Pulitzer Prize in the United States.
Nominations for the prize, which is the world's largest literary award, come from public libraries worldwide. No Irish authors were named on this year's shortlist.
