Johnny Depp has been lined up for the lead role in 'Addict', a new film which will be directed by 'Lord of the Rings' star Andy Serkis.
The BBC reports that the film tells the story of a drug addict who turns his life around after living on the streets of Wrexham.
The film is based on Stephen Smith's best-selling biography and is due to begin shooting this summer.
Smith said that he hoped a deal for Depp to star in the film would be completed within weeks.
