Mike Reid, who played Frank Butcher in 'EastEnders' is in talks to return to the soap, Sky reports.
Reid, 65, was ordered to take a lengthy break from work after a heart scare five years ago, but he now wants to return.
He last appeared in the show in February 2000, when ex-wife Peggy travelled to Spain for his funeral, only to discover that he had faked his death.
Barbara Windsor is also returning to the show as Peggy Mitchell, alongside Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden as her sons Grant and Phil, but Charlie Brooks, who played Frank's daughter Janine, has declined the chance to reprise her role.
