A witness has told the jury in the Michael Jackson trial that the mother of his accuser never complained to her that she had been held captive or that the singer committed any crimes against her family.
Azja Pryor, a casting assistant who met Gavin Arvizo when he was suffering from cancer, also said the boy's mother, Janet Arvizo, was enthusiastic about a proposed trip to Brazil.
She also once complained that her sons were being kept away from the pop star.
Pryor said that Janet Arvizo never spoke critically of Jackson and praised him in lavish terms. "It was something to the effect (of) what a great man he is. He is an angel. His love is great," Pryor said.
The testimony contrasted many of the prosecution's claims that Mr Jackson's aides were plotting to whisk the family to Brazil in the wake of Martin Bashir's documentary and that they were not allowed to leave his ranch.
CNN talk show host Larry King, who was due to take the witness stand at the trial, was barred by Judge Rodney Melville from testifying yesterday.
Judge Melville ruled that King's testimony was not relevant.
King had been expected to say that a lawyer who represented the family of Michael Jackson's accuser had expressed doubts about their credibility.
