Dennis Hopper is set to star in 'America', the film adaptation of Susan Sontag's 2001 novel 'In America'.
The film, which will be directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, is set in the late 19th century. It tells the story of Polish actress Maryna Zatezowska, who will be played by Isabelle Huppert.
The movie follows Zatezowska as she immigrates to the US and attempts to set up a utopian commune in California. Hopper's character tries to help the actress revive her career.
Helen Mirren and Harvey Kietel are also reported to be in talks to star in 'America'. The film is due to begin shooting later this year in Spain and Poland.
