Oscar winner Jamie Foxx and R&B star Usher are joining Beyoncé in the big screen adaptation of the stage musical 'Dreamgirls'.
Variety reports that Foxx will play Curtis Taylor Jr, the manager who leads all-girl group The Dreamettes to stardom as The Dreams. Usher will play a choreographer named CC White.
It is reported that the makers of the film want Eddie Murphy to play the role of singer James 'Thunder' Early in the movie, a character described as one-part James Brown and one-part Marvin Gaye.
The film, inspired by the story of The Supremes, will be directed by 'Kinsey' helmer Bill Condon.
Production begins in January in Los Angeles.
