Ireland's Eurovision hopefuls Donna and Joseph McCaul have left for Kiev after a family farewell in their home town of Athlone
The brother and sister duo are the first Irish entrants to ever face a qualifying round on Thursday next, 19 May.
Earlier Donna McCaul told RTÉ that she felt the voting system should go back to a jury.
She added that she and her brother realised the momentous task ahead of them, with large Balkan voting blocks, but would sing their hearts out for Ireland and were hoping to qualify for the big event on Saturday 21 May.
