'Countdown' host Richard Whiteley is in a stable condition after being rushed to hospital with pneumonia.
The 61-year-old, who has presented the show since its launch in 1982, was rushed to intensive care at Bradford Royal Infirmary on Friday after falling ill.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Television, which makes the Channel 4 quiz, said that 'Countdown' would continue to be screened as the shows are recorded in advance.
"All his colleagues and friends wish him well and hope he will soon be back behind the 'Countdown' desk," she said.
