RTÉ's 'Fair City' star Pat Nolan has been voted Best Soap Actor at the international Golden Rose television entertainment festival in Lucerne in Switzerland.
Nolan, who plays Barry O'Hanlon in the series, received the award for his portrayal of the former school principal who suffered a nervous breakdown after the loss of his job.
The actor received the award at a gala awards ceremony in Lucerne on Saturday night; last year 'EastEnders' star Shane Richie won the award.
At this year's awards 'Fair City' was nominated in the Best Soap category and 'Close Encounters with Keith Barry' was shortlisted for Best Variety Show.
