Former 'EastEnders' actress Anita Dobson, who played Angie Watts in the soap, has signed up for a new role in 'The Bill'.
Dobson, who joins the show next month, is due to play the part of detective Phil Hunter's mother.
A spokesperson for 'The Bill' said: "Her character, Lynne, is a tough, no-nonsense woman who finds out Phil's making a mess of his life and comes to sort him and his brother out."
"We were absolutely thrilled Anita agreed to appear in the show," the spokesperson said.
The 55-year-old actress left 'EastEnders' in 1998, after playing Queen Vic landlady Angie Watts for three years.
Dobson, who is married to Queen guitarist Brian May, recently appeared in the West End Musical 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'.
