Tobey Maguire is to star opposite George Clooney and Cate Blanchett in Steven Soderbergh's new film, 'The Good German'.
The romantic thriller tells the story of an American journalist (Clooney) who travels to Berlin to cover an Allied summit about the future of post-World War II Germany.
But he is secretly there to search for his former lover (Blanchett).
Variety reports that Maguire will play a soldier with ulterior motives who drives Clooney's character around Berlin.
The film will be shot in black-and-white on sound stages at Warner Bros, with production set to begin in the autumn.
Maguire recently inked a deal to produce and star in the film 'Tokyo Suckerpunch'.
