Jackson - Mother of accuser gives evidence

The mother of Michael Jackson's accuser has told the jury in his case that her and her family were put under immense pressure to help exonerate the singer.

The woman sobbed in court yesterday as she begged jurors not to judge her for failing to intervene when she saw Mr Jackson behave inappropriately towards her son while they were travelling on a private jet.

"Please don't judge me, please don't judge me, at that time I hadn't slept for so long," she said. Describing the flight journey to the jury, the boy's mother said: "That's when I saw Michael licking (his) head. I thought it was me, I thought I was seeing things."

The woman's younger son has also previously testified to seeing a head-licking incident. However, the flight attendant has claimed that she didn't witness any intimate contact between Mr Jackson and the boy.

In further testimony, the woman told the jury about being rushed off to Miami so that her and her family would not see the Martin Bashir documentary about the singer.

She claimed that Mr Jackson and two German aides told her that she and her family were in grave danger, before flying them back to Neverland. She also said that she was urged to make a videotape which would exonerate the singer, in order to "appease the killers."

Jurors also heard a tape of a series of calls from one of Mr Jackson's aides asking the woman to go away with the singer. "We're all going to have to go somewhere, including Michael," he said.

The woman said that she feared the singer's two German aides but that she considered Mr Jackson to be "family".

Mr Jackson is charged with 10 counts of child molestation, and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. He has pleaded innocent to the charges.
