Pearl Jam are continuing work on their eighth studio album in Seattle.
Speaking to Billboard.com, guitarist Mike McCready said Pearl Jam have between 20 and 25 songs together, describing the material as "some ballads and some pretty harder stuff, and some Who-ish type-stuff".
The guitarist said the band were about halfway to completing work on the record and that he hoped it would be out before the end of the year.
"It's going to be a really awesome record," he said, "and I'm not just saying that like every band member says it. It's been really exciting."
