Jackson - Former maid gives evidence

A former maid at Neverland Valley Ranch told the Michael Jackson trial yesterday that the singer regularly shared his bed with young boys.

She also claimed that she once found Mr Jackson in the shower with a young boy who stayed at the ranch.

The woman's son testified on Monday that the singer had fondled him three times during his years there. She and her son reached a civil settlement reported to be worth $2m in the 1990s.

The maid claimed 'Home Alone' star Macaulay Culkin regularly slept in Mr Jackson's room when he stayed at Neverland Valley Ranch. Culkin, who has denied that the singer ever behaved inappropriately towards him, is not now expected to be called as a witness.

The maid claimed in her testimony that she once discovered an eight-year-old boy in the shower with Mr Jackson. She said: "I came in and at first I thought they were playing in the bathtub or Jacuzzi and I didn't see them. ... I walked in and they were in the shower."

The woman said that she also felt uncomfortable about Mr Jackson's interaction with her son, but on cross-examination she admitted that she had never seen the singer molest either her son or anyone else.

The maid and her son, who is now 24-years-old, are among nine witnesses being called by prosecutors in an attempt to establish a pattern of inappropriate behaviour on the part of the singer.

Mr Jackson is charged with 10 counts of child molestation, and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. He has pleaded innocent to the charges.
