Man tells of alleged Jackson abuse

Jackson - Trial continues

A 24-year-old man has told the jury in the Michael Jackson trial that the singer repeatedly molested him as a child.

The man, who is the son of a former maid to the pop star, broke down in tears as he described the alleged abuse.

He said the incidents had happened when he was between the ages of seven and 10 and had begun as a game of tickling.

He is the first of nine witnesses to give evidence in relation to five previous abuse allegations.

The man could be cross-examined further by Mr Jackson's defence team today; Mr Jackson's team could focus on a $2m legal settlement the man and his mother accepted from Mr Jackson in the mid-1990s and his conflicting statements to police.

Mr Jackson's lead defence attorney Tom Mesereau reminded the man yesterday that he had denied to police that Mr Jackson had abused him, often referring to statements the boy made when he was 13.

The man said he did not remember telling police: "He never rubbed me there - it was just a tickling." But he said he had been too embarrassed to admit he had been abused.
