Britney Spears has lashed out at tabloid newspapers and magazines, calling them "false" and "desperate".
Recent media reports in tabloids have suggested that the singer's marriage to Kevin Federline was in trouble and that she was pregnant.
Although she did not mention these specific issues in a letter posted on her official website, Spears asked the companies behind such newspapers and magazines to take a look at the kind of employees they hire.
Spears wrote: "After this posting, I hope you are asking yourself a lot of questions. Your employees are a reflection of your magazine."
"Until you face what is going on in your life, I guess you'll remain a false tabloid," she said.
