Reports that two of 'Coronation Street's most popular stars are due to quit the long-running soap have been flatly denied.
A spokeswoman for the show said Nikki Sanderson, who plays hairdresser Candice Stowe, and Debra Stephenson, who stars as Frankie Baldwin, were definitely not leaving.
She also denied that Sanderson is due to marry her real-life boyfriend Danny Young - who plays football player Warren Baldwin in the programme.
Young is due to leave 'Coronation Street' in July and some reports suggested Sanderson could not bear to be working without him.
But, the spokeswoman said: "They're very happy together but they are not getting married. Neither Nikki or Debra has any intention of leaving the soap. They are both having a ball."
Sanderson had been quoted in a Sunday newspaper as saying: "My contract is up in September. At the end of the day, an actor's life is one where you do go from job to job. People understand it."
Rumours about Stephenson's career plans surfaced following her success on 'Celebrity Fame Academy'.
Stephenson, who plays the wife of Bradley Walsh's character Danny, was quoted by the paper as saying: "I've had three offers since 'Fame Academy'. I'm not going to turn this chance down."
"The idea is to get an album of songs together. I already have one I did for a hobby on the internet," she added.
